There are some obvious times when you do not want to visit certain states, unless, you're planning on going to the main event and paying for it.

For example, if you want to go to New Orleans, anytime is a good time, but, if you plan to go to NOLA for Mardi Gras, you'll pay outrageous airfare and hotel rooms are jacked up 200%.

The same would apply to Minneapolis for the Super Bowl. You know, that will be the most expensive time to visit MSP.

GoBankingRates.com, published the most expensive time to visit every state in the country. For North Dakota, I think they got it wrong, but let me know what you think. They say the worst time to visit NoDak is during the winter months. The examples given are the Cabin Fever Days in Jamestown and the ShiverFest in Devils Lake.

I know if you plan to visit Minot during the North Dakota State Fair, you'll pay premium prices for hotels during the fair, plus HOST Fest, the same applies.

I think GoBankingRates.com got it wrong.

You can see the rest of the states here.
