Former North Dakota State University and NFL wide receiver Kole Heckendorf survived quite a scare Friday night, as a plane crashed into the home he was staying in.

According to The Dickinson Press, Heckendorf was staying at the Sauk Rapids, MN home of his brother-in-law, Jeff Hille, when the plane crashed into it at approximately 8:30pm on Friday.

The crash knocked Heckendorf to his feet. Once he realized that the explosion had not come from the garage, but from a plane that had struck the house, he jumped out of the second story window to safety.

The two passengers aboard the plane, who have not been named, both died in the crash. Heckendorf's dog, Storm, was also killed.

Heckendorf spent four years at NDSU, where he holds the school record for most receiving yards and receptions.
