Two North Dakota Cities are in the Top 100 Best Small Cities List
Nerdwallet just released the top 100 best small cities to live in. Many of the Midwest cities made it to the top 100. Moorhead, MN ranked #1.
Other Midwest small towns in the top ranks are Mankato, MN at #5 and Winona, MN at #2.
Nerdwallet used the following indicators to make the top 100 best small cities. Economic health, affordability and quality of life. The survey looked at more than 1,300 cities that have a population of less than 75,000. The study also noticed the following-
- Midwest cities rate highly based on their relatively low cost of living, short commutes, and generally healthy economic conditions.
- College towns score better. Most of the top 10 cities have at least one college or university, and higher education institutions are a draw for employers and residents.
Based on these factors, only two cities in North Dakota made the list. #37, Grand Forks and #69, West Fargo, ND.
