According to data recently released by the U.S. Census Bureau, the populations for both Bismarck and Mandan showed an increase.

The new data shows that as of July 1, 2015, Mandan's population showed an increase to 21,382, which is not only a 2.6 percent increase from 2014, but a 16.6 percent increase since 2010. The population of Morton County also increased to 30,310 which was up 1.6 percent from two years ago and up 10.3 from the 2010 census.

Bismarck's population has also seen a jump of nearly 10,000 over the past six years. The agency's recent report shows that it is up to 71,167 in July 2015. This is up from 67,167 in 2013 and 61,272 in 2010. Burleigh County's population in July 2015 was reported at 92,991. That number is up from 88,474 in 2013 and 81,308 in 2010.

The census also shows that the Bismarck-Mandan metro area has now grown to 129,517 which is according to data reported in 2015. This is a 13 percent jump from 2010. The counties of Burleigh, Morton, Olive, and Sioux are included as part of the metro area.
