Through a program that will depict national parks on the back of quarters, the Theodore Roosevelt National park in Medora, North Dakota will be honored later this month.

The program, known as the Mint's America the Beautiful Quarters Program, will feature 56 national parks and sites throughout the country. The U.S. Mint and National Parks Service will come together to launch the Theodore Roosevelt National Park during a ceremony on August 25 on the park grounds.

The park, named after the 26th president of the United States, is made up of three geographically separated area of western North Dakota badlands and covers 70,446 acres. Every year, the park sees an estimated 600,000 visitors.
