The University of North Dakota's quest for an eighth championship took a step forward Friday night, March 27th, with a 4-1 win over Quinnipiac in the first round of the NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament.

Goalie Zane McIntyre, who was drafted by the Boston Bruins in 2010, made 29 saves to secure the win and a spot in the next round for UND.

Drake Caggiula and Luke Johnson both scored short-handed goals for UND, which held Quinnipiac scoreless until the third period.

UND will face St. Cloud State tonight, March 28th, at the Scheel's Arena in Fargo. St. Cloud State defeated Michigan Tech 3-2 in overtime to secure their spot in the West Region Championship.
