The tradition continues this Saturday as the University of North Dakota welcome South Dakota State to the Alerus Center for the 48th Annual Potato Bowl!

The festivities actually begin today in Grand Forks. Here's what's on tap:

French Fry Feed and Fireworks
Time:  4:30 PM – dusk

Location:    University Park & Memorial Stadium

Meet the UND athletes
French Fry Eating Contest
Fireworks Display sponsored by Rydell Auto Center at Memorial Stadium
Potato Giveaway – Black Gold Farms will give a coupon valued at $2.50 for potatoes at any Hugo’s location to the first 500 families to enter the gates at Memorial Stadium plus a chance to win Hugo’s gift cards.
Kids will get a free glow stick while supplies last, also courtesy of Black Gold Farms!

Friday's festivities include:

UND Fan Luncheon – Serving begins at 11:30, program at noon – Alerus Center

Baked Potato Bar, served 11 AM – 1 PM (all Hugo’s locations)

Hugo’s Potato Bowl 10K Run & Tater Tot Trot (Riverside Park Warming House) Registration begins at 4 PM and find Potato Bowl Pete!

 

And, finally, Saturday is game day!:

GF Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast – 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Grand Forks Central High School

Sons of Norway Potato Pancake Breakfast – 7:30 AM t0 1:00 PM at 1401 9th Avenue South in Grand Forks.

KEM Shrine Potato Bowl Parade - 10:30 AM  – The route starts behind the YMCA and goes to Demers Avenue and heads east over the river into East Grand Forks, MN and then continues to 4th Street NW and ends in the Riverwalk Centre parking lot.

NPPGA Baked Potato Bar – Time set for 3:00 PM at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.

48th Annual Potato Bowl Football Game – North Dakota vs South Dakota State – Tailgating begins at 2:00, Kick off time set for 6:00 PM at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks. Find Potato Bowl Pete!
