The University of North Dakota football team did something Saturday afternoon that it had never done before: beat an FBS team.

UND defeated former NDSU coach Craig Bohl's Wyoming Cowboys 24-13 in front of nearly 24,000 fans at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, WY.

This was the first time in eight tries that UND has defeated an FBS opponent since moving to Division I in 2008, according to UNDSports.com.

UND never trailed the Cowboys and took a 21-0 lead into the fourth quarter. They were led by freshman John Santiago, who rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

UND is at home next weekend, Saturday, September 12th, to take on Drake in the 50th Annual Potato Bowl. Kickoff is at 5 p.m.
