Unemployment Rate is Up in North Dakota
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, last month, the non-seasonal unemployment rate saw an increase since December 2015.
The unemployment rate in North Dakota was up to 3.0 percent, which is up from 2.6 in November 2016 and 2.8 percent from one full year before. One factor was that the state had the nation's second largest month-to-month percentage decrease in payroll percentage of non-farmers, 1.0 percent. Only West Virginia had more at 1.1 percent.
Non-seasonal unemployment for the U.S. also rose in December to 4.5 percent, which is up from 4.4 percent in November.
