After leading United Tribes Technical College to their first ever appearance in the Division II Women's National Championship Tournament, center Terae Briggs is ready for a new challenge.

After just one season at UTTC, Briggs has elected to transfer to the University of Nevada for the opportunity to play Division I basketball, according to Indian Country Today.

The 6-foot-3 Briggs averaged 22.4 points and 12.1 rebounds per game during her only season at UTTC, which helped her earn the Region XIII most valuable player designation.

She was also named the most valuable player of the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament, where she helped UTTC secure their first ever trip to the NJCAA Division II Women's National Championship Tournament.

Briggs joins a team in Nevada that already features another Native American player, guard MorningRose Tobey.

Briggs is originally from the Crow Reservation town of Pryor, Montana.
