Valley City Man Accused of Domestic Battery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon

Allan Uffelman, 28, of Valley City, ND, is in custody today following reports that he shoved his significant other to the floor, then trapped her and her kids in their home, threatening to shoot anyone who approached with a shotgun.

Brianna Devitt, 25, was assaulted by her partner when he pushed her down right in front of visiting relatives of hers.

Following the relatives' departure, the scene became even scarier when Uffelman confined Devitt and the kids inside while brandishing the loaded weapon. Her family reported the incident after she later called them to relate what had happened.

Devitt and her kids were able to make an escape from the house, after which police found Uffelman unconscious beside the gun on the floor of the home. He faces charges of domestic battery, possessing a firearm as a felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
