This could be extremely convenient when it comes to motor vehicle registration.

From a personal standpoint, I've lived in four states prior to living in North Dakota and by far, this state has the most efficient Department of Transportation I've ever experienced. Now there's a chance it could improve that much more. This may even save drivers more time. ND DOT is currently looking for locations in Bismarck to place motor vehicle registration self-service terminals.

As a one-year pilot project, a terminal will be placed in the DOT building and two other 24-hour terminals will be placed in retail buildings. These terminals will be fully automated and will have the capability to dispense license plate renewal registration cards and motor vehicle tabs on the spot. The terminals will accept credit card only.

Businesses or retail stores interested in providing a spot for a terminal can find information at http://www.dot.nd.gov/
