Alright so you don't like the Democratic or Republican candidates in this year's election. You don't even like the North Dakota born Libertarian candidate either. You want to run as an independent. Here's what you need to do:

First off, at this point you need to run as an Independent. It is too late to run as a Democrat or Republican.

Also, you should know that you are not going to win the Presidency. But maybe you want your name on the ballot in North Dakota just so North Dakotans vote for you and not another candidate forcing the other candidates to lose out on North Dakota's 3 electoral votes.

Conveniently, the website Ballotpedia explains what you need to do to get your name on the Presidential ballot as an Independent.

In order to get on the ballot in North Dakota, you need to petition to get on the ballot and obtain 4,000 signatures. That doesn't seem so bad! The deadline to file your petition with the necessary 4,000 signatures is September 5. Of course this will only put you on the ballot in the state of North Dakota.

In order to get on the ballot in the other states, you would need to fulfill each specific state's signature requirement and file the petition by that state's deadline. For example, to get on the ballot in Texas, you need to obtain 79,939 signatures and file the petition by... well... you missed it. It was May 9. Nobody in Texas can vote for you now. Bummer.

Good luck on your Presidential run!
