Severe thunderstorms were issued for Bismarck-Mandan and surrounding areas in the early morning hours on June 17.

At about 4:15am, thunder started rumbling in the Bismarck-Mandan area and lightning followed shortly after. By 4:30am we had heavy rain and consistent lightning and fairly strong winds.

Just after 5am, we took a video from our radio studio showing all the lightning. The lightning seemed to be more frequent around 4:30 through 4:50am but it was still pretty consistent shortly after 5am.
