What Gives Money it’s Value? [VIDEO]

We all know what money is, and how it works... but do you know what actually gives those pieces of paper their actual value?

In a video published by Ted.Ed (a great YouTube channel to learn about pretty much anything), the narrator talks about the evolution of what determines the value of currency, and what causes it to change over time.

Thinking back to my childhood and all the times my father was trying to "teach me the value of money".... I don't remember an explanation like this. But, then again, I probably wouldn't have understood it when I was only 8 years old.
