Live Science.com released a list of the states with the highest amount of drunk driver incidents and I'm sure your wondering, where does North Dakota rate? Here is the good news, we're not number one, but we're up on the list.

Hawaii would be the state with the most drunk driver incidents. Live Science.com used this methodology-

To get a better sense of how common drunk driving is, the CDC researchers analyzed results from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System survey, a random-dialing telephone survey that asks people about their risk-taking behavior. Based on that data, the researchers estimated that about 1.8 percent of the U.S. population, or about 4.2 million people, drove while under the influence the month before the survey.

The results show that the amount of incidents in the Midwest are high, but not as high as Hawaii as they lead the survey. In Nebraska, there were 955 episodes yearly per 1,000 people, while North Dakota had 855 and Wisconsin had 828. Utah had only 217 incidents per 1,000 people.
