Doug Burgum Responds to Inappropriate Donald Trump Video
After an inappropriate video featuring Donald Trump surfaced on Friday (10/7), numerous prominent North Dakota politicians have condemned the Republican presidential nominee, including Republican gubernatorial hopeful Doug Burgum.
According to the Grand Forks Herald, Burgum called Trump's comments in the 2005 video 'offensive, wrong, and unacceptable.'
Instead of just focusing on Trump in his statement, though, Burgum also used the opportunity to take a shot at Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, stating that it's 'disappointing that our presidential nominating system produced two flawed candidates.'
Burgum wasn't the only North Dakota politician to release a statement regarding the Trump video. Senator Heidi Heitkamp posted the following to her Twitter account on Saturday, October 8th:
Senator John Hoeven called Trump's comments 'offensive and wrong,' before stating that the presidential hopeful needs to prove that he doesn't believe in what he said in the 2005 video.
The 2005 video is expected to be a hot topic during the second presidential debate between Trump and Clinton, which takes place Sunday night, October 9th, at 8 p.m. CST.
