As we all know, everyone is a critic — and just about everyone voted in this year’s Indiewire Film Critics Poll. A record-high “232 critics voting from 32 countries” selected their top picks for the movies and performances of the year, and when the ballots were tallied, there was a one clear winner: Roma from director Alfonso Cuarón took home the top prize.

Here are the top ten films of the year, according to hundreds of film critics, via Indiewire:

  1. Roma
  2. First Reformed
  3. Burning
  4. The Favourite
  5. Cold War
  6. Shoplifters
  7. BlacKkKlansman
  8. Zama
  9. You Were Never Really Here
  10. If Beale Street Could Talk

Cuarón also took the prize for Best Director — and Roma also was named the best foreign language film with the best cinematography — while the top acting awards went to The Favourite’s Olivia Colman and Rachel Weisz, First Reformed’s Ethan Hawke, and Burning’s Steven Yeun. The best documentary was Minding the Gap (which you can watch right now on Hulu, by the way) while the best first feature was Boots Riley’s Sorry to Bother You. The Favourite also won the top screenplay prize.

At this point, Roma has won enough preliminary and critics awards to be an absolute lock for a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards. But can it actually win the top prize? It has several things going against it, most importantly the fact that it is a Netflix film it remains to be seen whether the Academy, with its older, traditionalist membership, will want to reward a company that some feel is working to undermine the theatrical moviegoing experience.

It’s maybe the most interesting storyline of the 2018 awards season — which will come to a conclusion at Oscars on Sunday, February 24.
