I don't think it's possible that throughout the history of our planet, you would ever find a 6-year-old boy with such a bigger smile like Royce

Compliments of the Bismarck Fire Department!  This is no secret, you know, there are so many people in Bismarck and Mandan that truly care - their hearts ring true every day. Take a couple of seconds and look at the genuine joy in a young man who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. A brave big heart in a little boy's body.

The visit was coordinated in partnership with Living Hope Church as part of the Best Day Ever program

A wonderful group of people getting together, bringing life to all of our souls. Royce's visit was coordinated in partnership with Living Hope Church as part of the Best Day Ever program, founded by Andy Lam. This young guy spent the afternoon hanging out the the crew, touring the fire station, going for a ride in the department’s ladder truck in the captain's seat, helping to set up the ladder truck, and had the opportunity to operate a hose line under firefighter supervision.

It was tough to see who had the best time - Royce or the Bismarck Fire Department

Tossing a football around with a 6-year-old is the coolest thing around. Spreading love and cheer to someone battling a terrible foe is nothing short of incredible. Captain Dusty Schlittenhardt remarked, "It was heartwarming to see Royce full of energy throughout the afternoon and doing so well in his battle with cancer." Like I said, a wonderful group of people - The event is part of the department’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, especially in support of families and children facing medical challenges.

Thank you to everyone involved, warms your heart.
