Here is the thing about April Lund...

..doesn't matter what she just recently conquered, if you ever get a chance to meet this humble and polite Bismarck speedster, she will first ask how YOU are doing. Then maybe ten minutes later she will casually mention that she just broke yet another American record. She is gracious and extremely fast. Check out what she posted the other day on Facebook.

"...Grateful to my team for all the support...

"What an exciting USATF MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIP! Our team did fantastic and placed in the top 10 female teams. Lots of PRs but more importantly lots of laughs, growth, new friends, and getting outside of our comfort zones. I could not be more proud of our team and our friends. Emotionally I had a hard time dealing with pulling from the 5000, even though I knew it was the right decision for my goals and future. The taper and no 5000 paid off big time with a long sought after goal finally being reached! On a nice warm Saturday morning with 30-40 remarkable athletes on the track I had one of the best races of my life and went for broke from the gun. That resulted in a new 10000m American Record at a 5:25 pace. I felt very comfortable with 5:28-32 going in, and the taper and no 5000 really paid off! Grateful to my team for all the support, patience and understanding as I had a case of the angries from the taper and pressure I put on myself. Thank you to USATF for all the support and continuing to go above and beyond to give us the opportunities to succeed. Thank you to everyone in the race Saturday morning for helping me set that record. Thank you to my family, friends, sponsors, doctors, our community for all the continued support as I chase my dreams at 42 years old!! I will update more soon. Sorry for all the unanswered messages, texts, etc. I just needed some space to take everything in and make my next plans.
