Musicians and artists leave me spellbound

I say that because my whole life I've always admired the talents of those who create magic through playing an instrument and on a canvas. Paul Noot is his name - he has been an artist for almost his full 58 years of life. This weekend here in Bismarck - the Capital A'fair at the Capitol grounds - both Saturday and Sunday you will see experience local artists "...adding more art to their communities"

"An Angry Cat On A Tree"

Paul has a studio on 4th Street, next to the old Tribune building - He is approaching his 29th year of teaching Art at Bismarck High School. “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up” - from Pablo Picasso - and it rings true with Paul. He loves to see his students find their strengths through their painting. I love his portrayal of an angry cat - even better when it's ON a tree.....on the Capitol grounds. Genius. You can see the picture of him below adding to the canvas, that is wrapped around the tree. Permission was granted of course.

We should all be proud of this event

"The 50th annual Capital A’Fair is one of the area’s largest summer art fairs! It features over 120 artisans from across the country and attracts 8,000 to 15,000 local and regional visitors. Music, great food, performing arts groups, antique car show, and children’s activities contribute to the festive mood. The setting is the beautiful Capitol grounds of North Dakota. Capital A’Fair proceeds benefit Bismarck Art & Galleries Association, a non-profit visual arts center. To best ensure the financial success of our artists, we limit the number of accepted applicants"
