North Dakota’s Best River To Visit Is Receiving National Attention
We have a lot of scenic rivers in the state of North Dakota.
We may not be blessed with 10,000 lakes like our neighbors to the east (we have more like 400 lakes), but we have some gorgeous rivers in the state. If you take the time to explore some of these bodies of water, I think you will agree with my assessment.
I ran across an article about the best river to visit in each state. North Dakota's choice for the article, I was a little surprised, but I guess I shouldn't be. I'm certainly aware of its charm and draw. More on this river in a moment, but first, I wanted to highlight five other beautiful rivers in the state (in no particular order).

The Missouri River - We are very blessed in the Capital Region to have stunning backdrops as the Mighty Mo cuts right through Bismarck-Mandan. Such a great recreational body of water, and a sportsman's paradise with world-class Walleye fishing.
The Sheyenne River - The area around Valley City is such a beautiful area. Very popular for kayaks and canoes. It's also a very good fishing river, with stunning views as well.
The Goose River - Especially a pretty stretch of river near Mayville-Portland in Traill County in eastern North Dakota.
The Turtle River - If you ever have a chance to visit the Turtle River State Park near Arvilla, North Dakota, don't pass it up. A popular place to camp and fish.
The Pembina River - Located in extreme northeast North Dakota, and cuts through the Pembina Gorge. Just a gorgeous spot in the state.
Now, let's look at which river was highlighted in ShermansTravel as the BEST river to visit in North Dakota.
The Little Missouri River - The article talks about how the river is a great way to experience the Badlands. Float down the Little Missouri in a kayak or canoe with breathtaking views, and you might even run into a Bison.
