
Discover North Dakota’s Inspiring County Teachers Of The Year
North Dakota's Superintendent of Schools, Kristen Baesler, just announced the 2025 ND County Teacher of the Year winners.
According to a press release, 46 educators, representing each North Dakota County, were named Teachers of the Year in their respective counties. One of these individuals will be chosen as North Dakota's State Teacher of the Year in September.
Baesler went on to say, "All North Dakotans should be grateful for the work our educators do to help develop our state's new generation of citizens."

All County award recipients are eligible to apply for state Teacher of the Year honors, which will be announced in September.
Last year's Teacher of the Year honor went to Kendall Burgrud, a math teacher at Wachter Middle School right here in Bismarck.
Nine counties had no applications in 2025: Adams, Billings, Divide, Golden Valley, Hettinger, Pierce, Sheridan, Sioux, and Slope.
Nominations for County Teacher of the Year may come from anyone, including students, family members, teacher colleagues, or administrators. Teachers may nominate themselves as well.
