Lincoln, North Dakota has Bragging Rights

It was recently named the safest town in North Dakota for 2026, according to HomeSnacks. In the article, it goes on to say how they determined their top 10 list of the safest towns in the Peace Garden State. Data was collected from the FBI, and important factors like property and violent crimes per capita. Good news for North Dakota cities in general, as it was determined that both violent and property crimes are well below the national average.

I'm a lifelong North Dakota resident, and I think most of us true North Dakotans know this state is not for the weak. Our weather can be extreme both in the summer and winter. We have to put up with a lot, but we do enjoy a good quality of life, with plenty of good-paying jobs, affordable housing, crime is low for the most part, and North Dakota "nice" is a real thing. There is a reason why we are one of the fastest-growing states in the nation.

Let's run down the rest of the top 10 safest towns, and keep in mind this is for cities with a population of 2,000 or greater. So, our friends in Ruso don't count. Sorry about that.
