Barry Diller, who founded FOX Broadcasting Network with Rupert Murdoch and USA Broadcasting, has come out as gay.

The businessman has been married to fashion icon Diane von Furstenberg since 2001.

In a recent exposé, Diller opened up about his relationship with the fashion designer and his sexuality.

"While there have been a good many men in my life, there has only ever been one woman, and she didn’t come into my life until I was 33 years old," he wrote for New York Magazine.

Diller, whose memoir Who Knew is being released soon, continued: I have never questioned my sexuality’s basic authority over my life (I was only afraid of the reaction of others)."

The IAC Chairman met Furstenberg in 1974 and was surprised by his relationship with the fashion maven.

"I’m well aware that this part of my life has caused confusion and lots of speculation. A relationship that began with indifference, then exploded into a romance as natural to us as breathing, surprised us and everyone else. It really is the miracle of my life," he wrote.

Diller described their relationship as a "unique and complete love." However, he indeed "also liked guys, but that was not a conflict with my love for Diane. I can’t explain it to myself or to the world."

He always believed that he and Furstenberg were "destined for each other."
