Three pounds of methamphetamine was seized by officers with the Mandan Police Department Wednesday, July 6th, in what could be the biggest bust in the patrol's history.

The Mandan Police Department pulled over 34-year old Zachariah M. Grotberg of Minot and 21-year old Shay E. Engel of Bismarck on Memorial Highway after they neglected to use their turn signal.

Officers then searched the pair's vehicle after learning they had outstanding warrants. Three pounds of methamphetamine, a rifle, two handguns, drug paraphernalia, silver coins, and more than $1,000 in cash were found during the search. The Mandan Police Department posted a picture of the items seized on their Facebook page:

According to The Bismarck Tribune, Lieutenant Pat Haug said it was the largest bust the department has made that he can remember.

Grotberg has been charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Methamphetamine), and False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer, according to the Mandan Police Department's Facebook post.

Engel has been charged with charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Methamphetamine).

The two are currently being held in the Morton County Jail on $50,000 bail.
