ND Nurses Union Call For Mask Mandate.

North Dakota nurses union rejected a policy that would allow COVID-19 nurses that tested positive to continue to treat patients at coronavirus units of hospitals and nursing homes if they are not symptomatic. According to THE HILL, in a statement released yesterday ( Wednesday ) the North Dakota Nurses Association agree that the "root of the problem" is not addressed in the policy mentioned, they also brought up that wearing masks should be a statewide mandate. The health department has recommended steps to take in hopes of slowing down the virus, the social distancing of course ( which was taken seriously back in March but seems to have faded away quite a bit ).

Here are some staggering cold facts - North Dakota is currently at the top of the list of states that have been hit the worst - in the whole country. That is computed in terms of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents, and one of 15 states WITHOUT a mask mandate. We have heard so much about the health department urging people in efforts to try and slow the spread by physical distancing and YES, wear your masks in public - but let me ask you this, how seriously do most people take the urging and pleading when it's not MANDATORY?  When I am out and about, I am seeing more masks, but I'm not feeling that necessity that we all should have. Here is one more troubling stat - the data from the North Dakota health department said today that there were fewer than 10 percent of staffed hospital beds available.
