With former quarterback Carson Wentz in attendance, the North Dakota State Bison continued their FCS dominance with a 31-10 win over Illinois State on Saturday (10/1).

Illinois State was first on the board, after kicker Sean Slattery kicked a 23-yard field goal in the middle of the first quarter. The Bison responded, however, later in the quarter when wide receiver Darrius Shepherd ran it in from 31-yards out to give NDSU a 7-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Redbirds opened the scoring in the second quarter with an 18-yard touchdown pass, but that would be the last time they'd see the end zone in the first half.

Bison quarterback Easton Stick threw three touchdown passes in the second quarter, beginning with a 65-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver R.J. Urzendowski. Heading into halftime, the Bison had a 28-10 lead over the Redbirds.

The only offense either team could muster in both the third quarter and fourth quarter was a 47-yard field goal from kicker Cam Pedersen in the third, which gave the Bison a 31-10 lead and eventual win.

Stick finished the game with 13 completions for 256 passing yards and three touchdowns. Running back King Frazier added 76 yards on the ground in the Bison victory.

Next up for the Bison, it's a trip to Springfield to take on Missouri State on October 8th.
