People Keep Shooting Road Signs for Some Reason
Don't shoot road signs. It's pointless and illegal.
The Morton County Sheriff's Department made an announcement on Facebook saying that people keep shooting road signs.
The post included photos of the signs that fell victim to bullets.
The Morton County Sheriff noted that vandalizing a road sign is punishable by up to 30 days in jail and a $500 fine. Certainly other laws regarding reckless discharge of a weapon could apply as well.
Each time a road sign needs to be replaced, taxpayers foot the bill. Each sign is between $200 and $250.
Don't shoot street signs. If you see someone shooting a street sign, report it.
