In a recent interview with GQ, Diplo said that like most producers, he really wants to work Rihanna but she keeps curving him.

It all started when he let her hear a track.

“I played her ‘Lean On.’ She was like, I don’t do house music," he recalls. "I face-palmed so hard on that one."

Not one to give up, Diplo remembers another time he was in the studio with RiRi, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd and Future.

“Another time I had a session with her, and Future was also invited," he remembers. "The Weeknd was there. Metro Boomin was there before anybody knew who he was. I was so contact high. Future played her, like, 700 songs. It was four in the morning. Finally, I was like, ‘Yo, G, I’m leaving unless you let me play her a song.’ So I played her a song. And she was like, ‘This sounds like a reggae song at an airport.’ [laughs] I was like, I’m gonna go kill myself.”

Of course, the comical shade made its rounds on the internet and RiRi got a few giggles out of the story, posting a sort-of apology to Diplo on Instagram with a screen capture of the GQ article.

“#DutyFree. My bad @diplo," she wrote, capping it with crying laughing emojis.

Seriously though, how do you not love Rihanna?
