Thick Fog May Be the Cause of a School Bus Accident with Injuries
Dense thick fog this morning may have been the cause of a school bus accident this morning (9/25) that sent several people to the hospital including the bus driver.
The school bus collided with a semi-truck about 9AM this morning when a Kindred School District bus crashed at the intersection of North Dakota Highway 46 and Richland County Highway 1. The truck driver was traveling on Highway 1, could not see the school bus traveling east on Highway 46 due to the foggy conditions.
This crash caused several other semi truck accidents around the scene about 6 miles east of Kindred. According to reports 3 students were taken to the hospital by parents after sustaining minor injuries. The female bus driver had serious, but not life threatening injuries.
North Dakota Department of Transportation and the Highway Patrol announced the temporary closure of Highway 46 between Interstate 29 and Kindred due to the accident.
