Here’s 2018’s No.1 Highest-Paid Actress ― and How Much She’s Made
Marvel's Avengers is, unsurprisingly, proving quite fruitful for Scarlett Johansson, who tops Forbes' 2018 list of the World's Highest-Paid Actresses.
According to the outlet, Johansson made $40.5 million before taxes between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018, nearly quadrupling her 2017 earnings. Angelina Jolie comes in second with $28 million — thanks in large part to her upfront pay for the currently filming Maleficent 2 — and Jennifer Aniston rounds out third with $19.5 million, making most of her money from endorsement deals with Emirates airlines, Smartwater and Aveeno.
Filling out the top five are Jennifer Lawrence, who claimed fourth with $18 million for her role in the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix as well as her contract with Dior, and Reese Witherspoon, who drew in $16.5 million for her leading parts in Big Little Lies and A Wrinkle In Time.
Also featured on the list are Mila Kunis (No. 6, $16 million), Julia Roberts (No. 7, $13 million), Cate Blanchett (No. 8, $12.5 million), Melissa McCarthy (No. 9, $12 million), and newcomer Gal Gadot (No. 10, $10 million), who took home a hefty salary for her starring turn in box office smash Wonder Woman.
Notably absent from this year's ranking is Emma Stone, who nabbed first place last year with $26 million for her Oscar-winning performance in La La Land.
