One of my co-workers wrote a story yesterday on "The Sketchiest Places in Bismarck."  Her information was based on crime statistics and personal experience.  Knowing this person as I do, I know there was absolutely no intention to criticize, slight, or make fun of anybody or any place.

However, many of the facts and observations from the story were taken out of context.

Ridiculously out of context on a couple of our station's Facebook pages.  Go figure, people are just lining up to get "butt-hurt" over things these days.  When did everything become so serious?

Yes, I realize that crime and poverty are serious issues but why can't we even talk about them without a small percentage of people throwing a fit?  I get how people have pride in where they live.  I'm a south sider in Demon country myself.  I still display that pride on my personal Facebook page with a picture of my son in his Bismarck High hockey jersey.

Again, it's unfortunate that we can't all just lighten up a bit.  So, with that being said I thought I would do just that.

I decided to come up with a list of "The 8 Sketchiest Spots in Mandan!"

No, he didn't. Oh yes, I did.  These "sketchy" spots are a little bit different.  When I say "sketchy" I mean places where you might actually find a sketch artist, because these spots are that scenic.

I work in Mandan and love our community.  West River people are friendly, would give you the shirt right off their back if you were in need, and know how to shoot off fireworks.  All are good things in my book.

So, without further ado, these are "The 8 Sketchy Spots in Mandan."  AKA Scenic Spots/Sketch worthy.
