Alicia Keys Announced as 2019 Grammys Host
Alicia Keys has been announced as the host of the 2019 Grammy Awards.
The singer shared the exciting news with a video of her receiving word that she'd been chosen. In the clip, Keys, 37, can be seen sitting in what appears to be a studio, smiling as she heard the news.
"Remember when the nominations for the Grammys came out and we were like, 'Damn, this is gonna be such an exciting show this year because of all the female artists and performers.' And we were like, damn, too bad we don't have music until a little bit after the Grammys?" a man says to Keys over the phone in the video.
"What would you say if I told you that you have a chance to host the whole damn thing?"
Keys appears caught off guard by the news. She smiles and laughs in the clip, seemingly shocked.
"Are you serious?" she says, before celebrating with a dance.
The clip also features some behind the scenes clips of Keys sharing the news with her mother and husband, as well as footage of her getting ready. She takes fans along to the promo shoot for the awards show and tries on a number of outfits, some of which she liked more than others.
It's clear Keys is excited for her duties as Grammys host. Tune in to the awards show Feb. 10 at 8pm EST.
