‘Beauty and the Beast’ Images Reveal First Look at Emma Watson’s Belle, Dan Stevens’ Beast
The wait for the full Beauty and the Beast trailer has reached agonizing levels, as Disney spent the last couple of months promoting the new 25th anniversary Blu-ray release of the classic animated film. Thankfully, we’ve gotten a few sneak peeks at the live-action redo via concept art, behind-the-scenes stills and a clip from a featurette on the aforementioned Blu-ray — and now we have a couple of new photos giving us our first look at Emma Watson’s Belle and Dan Stevens’ beast. But still no trailer. Sad trombone.
While we continue to wait for that trailer, Stitch Kingdom debuted two new photos from the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, featuring Watson and Stevens (the latter in his beastly form):

Yep, that definitely looks like Beauty and the Beast. Between the teaser (which was basically a shot-for-shot recreation of the animated film’s original teaser) and the various sneak peeks we’ve seen so far, it seems like Disney’s latest live-action redo is really faithful to the classic version — for better or worse. Hopefully we’ll get a better idea about what to expect when the trailer finally arrives.
Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
The live-action remake also stars Luke Evans as Gaston, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Josh Gad as LeFou, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts. Beauty and the Beast hits theaters on March 17, 2017.
