BHS Girls Basketball Team Collecting Donations with “Hygiene Hype” Campaign
A few years ago, the Bismarck High School Girls Basketball Booster Club wanted to do something good for others. When the club reached out to a school counselor about student needs, they learned that girls in the school could benefit from being supplied with feminine hygiene products. So, they started a donation campaign called "Hygiene Hype."
Hygiene Hype started out as a mission to provide girls with tampons and pads, but has turned into so much more. Now the mission is to provide both high school boys and girls with all types of personal care/ hygiene products.
It is easy to donate with the club's Amazon Registry. You can purchase the exact items needed, with just a few clicks.
Here is a list of items needed for students at Bismarck High School:
- Pads/ Tampons
- Panty Liners
- Laundry Pods
- Hair Ties
- Bath Towels
- Target Gift Cards
- LARGE Shampoo Bottles
- Body Spray
- Hairbrushes
- Male & Female Deodorant
- New Male & Female Socks
Stephanie Kautzman of the BHS Girls Basketball Booster Club says that Bismarck High School converted a space in the basement for The Demon Closet. This is where students can "shop" for items they need. On top of that, Kautzman says that there are feminine hygiene products placed throughout the school for students to use as needed.
If you would like to donate to Hygiene Hype, collection locations are at the BHS Counselor's Office (Ms. Berg) and the February 11th girls basketball game against St. Mary's. Get more information on the BHS Girls Basketball Boosters Facebook page.
