Is North Dakota losing another store?

According to ConsumerAffairs.com, Big Lots! announced in June that they would close 40 stores nationwide due to financial struggles. Now, that number has increased to 289, according to MassLive.com.

The company filed a report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission; it outlines their worsening financial situation.

According to other reports, the company has lost $114.5 million from 2023 to 2024.

If you visit the website for an individual location, you may notice a banner at the top of the page that says, "Closing this location." They are offering 20 percent discounts at closing stores.

According to TheHill.com, the  following locations have announced they will close. Many of them have this listed on their websites.

Alabama - Troy

Arizona - 18 total, including Flagstaff, Glendale, Laveen, Mesa, East Mesa, Peoria, Phoenix

California - 75 total locations

Colorado -  8 locations, including Aurora, Grand Junction, Littleton, Longmont

Connecticut - 8 locations, including Manchester, Milford, Waterford

Florida - 26 locations, including Boca Raton, Bonita Springs, Clewiston, Coconut Creek, Destin, Hallandale, Hollywood, Miami Lakes, Orange Park, Orlando, Pompano Beach

Georgia - Savannah, Thomson

Illinois - 9 locations, including Crest Hill, Lockport, Niles

Indiana - 5 locations, including North Indianapolis, Kokomo

Kansas - Kansas City, Salina

Kentucky - Henderson, Lexington, Louisville

Louisiana - 4 locations, including Lafayette, Natchitoches

Maine - Portland

Maryland - 5 locations, including Laurel, Lexington Park, Reisterstown

Massachusetts - 5 locations, including Dennis Port, Ashland

Michigan - 11 locations, including Kentwood, Okemos, Portage, Ypsilanti

The question remains: Will North Dakota be affected? If you didn't know, there is only one Big Lots store in North Dakota; you can find it on E Bismarck Expressway in Bismarck.

According to the source, based on the Bismarck location's website, it does not seem to be closing at this time.

Texas, West Virginia, Rhode Island, Nebraska, New Mexico, Mississippi, Iowa, and Idaho will also not lose any stores in this round of cuts.
