BisMan: Did You See A Bunch Of People Covered In Mud This Weekend?
Just when you think you've seen it all, you catch a glimpse of something in BisMan that surprises you yet again.
If you were out and about on Saturday (July 20th) you may have seen several people covered head to toe in mud. You might have thought something was wrong. You may have also thought these people were doing some extreme gardening.
No, nothing was wrong, and they weren't doing any crazy gardening; they were playing mud volleyball.
Muddy Fun
You've probably heard of sand volleyball, but what about mud volleyball? This weekend, tons of BisMan residents got together for a mud volleyball tournament to benefit Miles of Love Dog Rescue.
The event took place at Rusty's Saloon & Grill starting at 8 am on Saturday. Wondering how they made it so muddy? - The local fire department sprayed down the courts, making the dirt nice and swampy for the cause.
19 teams of six battled it out for several hours to help the puppies of our community.
I actually participated in the tournament. Was it easy? No. Fun? Absolutely.
My team was called "Show Me Your Pitties." Take a look at how clean we were before we started:

There were times when the mud was up to my shins! I felt like that horse in The NeverEnding Story. Luckily, the "quicksand" did not best me.
Money Raised
Obviously, this event isn't about winning; it's about helping our furry friends, and with a total of $3000 raised, I think it's safe to say that goal was accomplished.
Winner
That said, one team did come out on top at the end of the day. "Barncats" won the whole tournament, proving they are most-skilled in mud-related activities. Congrats!
Adoptable Dogs
If you or someone you know is looking to adopt, or would like to help Miles of Love by fostering a dog, take a look at their website for the details on how to get started.
