North Bismarck will soon lose a local restaurant and brewery.

Earlier this week we reported that Bismarck Brewing would be closing its doors. As I'm sure you know, Bismarck Brewing was once located inside the Ale Works building.

After this announcement, many people wondered what this meant for Ale Works. In an attempt to clear up confusion, we reached out for confirmation that the restaurant and Ale Works brewery would remain in business despite Bismarck Brewing's departure. We were told that they were not planning on ceasing operations at that time.

An Unfortunate Development

Tim and Robin Bopp posted to Facebook on Saturday (March 15th), that they would, in fact, be closing their doors.

Their message went on to say that the decision was due to the couple's desire to retire.

The business had been operating for seven years, serving the people of Bismarck-Mandan delicious food and brews. We hate to see another local establishment go, but wish the Bopps a happy retirement. Thank you for giving us a great place to hang out for so many years.

Last Day of Business

In their post, the said the last day of operation would be March 22nd, this Saturday, and they're encouraging the community to join them for a drink during this final week. Gift cards will be honored.

Personally, I'd like to get one last look at the place; it has a gorgeous design and style. If you have time this week, stop by Ale Works, and grab a drink.

Even though we are losing this Bismarck brewery, we still have plenty of other places to visit in Bismarck-Mandan. Here are some great date-night options.
