Francesca's is a store many of us enjoy going to for cute accessories, dresses, and other fun trinkets. There's hardly a time I've gone to the Kirkwood Mall without popping in to see what's new in the store.

As of right now, there are 450 Francesca's locations nationwide, and a total of 3 in North Dakota: Minot, Bismarck, and Fargo. Many fear these locations will not be open much longer.

The retailer has not filed for Chapter 7 or Chapter 11 bankruptcy since 2020, but several sources reported that it is likely to happen again once courts reopen after the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. As of right now, according to The Street, the company has more than $250 million in unpaid invoices.

Closing For Good

Multiple sources (People, Women's Wear Daily, The Street, and MSN), reported that over the weekend, Francesca's stores, nationwide, started liquidation sales. The store's website is offering 30% off most items and a large clearance section marked $15 and under.

We reached out to Bismarck's store to confirm that our North Dakota stores are indeed closing, but did not receive an immediate response.

Let's hope some of the stores in our state remain open, despite widespread speculation that the boutiques nationwide are set to close.
