If you're in Bismarck, ND, you're in the right spot to settle down and raise a family.

According to our friends at WalletHub, Bismarck is the 5th best city in the U.S. to raise a family. The research for the study took into account key metrics across more than 180 U.S. cities that consider essential family dynamics, such as the cost of housing, the quality of education and health-care systems, and the opportunities for fun and recreation.

Bismarck ranked as the top state in 'affordability,' as well as 11th in 'socioeconomics' and 12th in 'education & child care.' The city also finished 17th in 'health & safety.'

Fargo finished 7th overall, which is no surprise given that earlier this year, WalletHub listed North Dakota as the 4th best state to raise a family. Sioux Falls, SD finished just behind Fargo at 8th overall. It appears there's something about the Dakotas that's a good fit for families.

So if you're looking to settle down with your significant other and have some kids, you're in the right place, or at least one of them.
