Bismarck’s Unsettling Pet Facebook Posts
I've lived in a few states, and I can honestly say that I've never seen this before. Only in North Dakota have I ever seen this happen.
I'm sure you've noticed this come up in your news feed from time to time. You're just scrolling, minding your own business, and suddenly, you are stopped dead in your tracks by a disturbing image posted to one of the Bismarck-Mandan Facebook groups.
Disturbing Photos Circulating In Bismarck
And when I say disturbing, yes, I mean it.
While I understand and appreciate that these people are trying to do something thoughtful and helpful, I also think we could maybe live without this image in all of our feeds.
Sadly, from time to time, pets in the area get hit by cars. People who live in the area or are walking through might notice this tragedy. What many Bismarck-Mandan residents have been doing is posting pictures of the dead animal on Facebook.
As I mentioned, I understand they are trying to locate and notify the owner, but perhaps just post a status update that describes the animal's colors, breed, size, and location, without including the very sad and occasionally graphic image. It's slightly traumatizing for some of us.
You can always send the photo for confirmation if someone reaches out about it.
Those are just my thoughts on the matter, but if you find it useful and necessary, I understand that too. I just feel like it's something I'm seeing more and more.
In any case, I hope to see fewer posts like these in the future, because losing an animal is such a gut-wrenching, awful feeling.
Now let's switch from the sad and spotlight some of Bismarck-Mandan's cutest (living) pets.
