When a co-worker first called my attention to this, I couldn't help but think "This sounds painful...outdoors..here in Bismarck ..in February?"

But I was way wrong and I am extremely impressed with the cool and fun things that the Bismarck Parks And Recreation have planned! Literally, right from the ist of February until February 26th there is an array of well-thought-of events scheduled for us all, even if you and your family have to brave the winter elements. Trust me on this you will be glad you participated in any of them.

It's Time To Celebrate Winter With Bismarck's Annual Flurry Fest

According to a Bismarck Parks And Recreation District press release - "...Bismarck Parks and Recreation District (BPRD) celebrates winter the entire month of February with Flurry Fest, a variety of free and low-cost activities for everyone" I actually counted easily over 30 fun creative events. Now try and imagine WHAT makes being outside in such frigid temps in Bismarck, in February FUN? I'll give you just a few highlights that should peak your attention:

Friday, February 3rd - Blacklight Tennis

Glow with us while playing some fun tennis drills in the dark at Capital Racquet & Fitness Center - 3200 N. 10th St - Ages 5 through adult - only $12.50 per person

February 7th -28th - Snow Volleyball

Think "sand" volleyball but with snow. Volleyballs are available at the Tatley-Eagles Park warming house at 602 Airport Rd. during regular warming house hours.

There are awesome sports to try, from Public Ice Skating to the S'mores Walk,   and even a Treasure Hunt is scheduled. You will kick yourself in the rear if you don't at least participate in one of these - and you can check them all out by clicking here.
