Summer will be here before we know it, and we're looking forward to all that comes with it.

Camping, cookouts, river days, fishing, etc. Of course, we always look forward to celebrating our nation's independence on the Fourth of July.

Every year, the Fourth of July fireworks show is at the Capitol grounds in Bismarck, but this year might be a little different.

Take a look at some photos we captured from past firework shows.

Beautiful!

According to a press release sent out from the Capital City 4th of July Committee, they are considering moving the fireworks show due to logistical concerns.

As you probably know and have seen, a new state laboratory is being built on the grounds right now.

The project has been moving along nicely, but it does pose certain risks and concerns. The review process is ongoing, and the dedicated committee is currently exploring other alternative locations for the fireworks show.

They are looking for a place that can provide a seamless and accommodating experience for the community.

City Administrator Jason Tomanek has facilitated the event, and the Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra has hosted it for many years; according to KFYR, the BMSO no longer plans to be the primary host.

That said, the show must go on. Organizers still plan to put on a fun and exciting show, though it just might be in a different location.

In the press release, it was stated that the committee will announce to the public as soon as a decision has been made.

The source says those involved plan to decide by the end of April.
