Even though it's still summer, you may notice some signs of fall popping up around town.

I don't want to wish away summer, but I have to admit that fall is my favorite season. Leaves, pumpkin carving, spooky movies, 70-degree days, sweaters, boots...all of it!

Obviously, a big part of the fall season is the Halloween holiday. With that, there's one store everybody looks forward to opening. Spirit Halloween.

According to USA Today, the company plans to open 1,500 locations all across the country this year. They also plan to hire approximately 50,000 employees.

You might also find it interesting that the National Retail Federation reported consumer spending for the Halloween holiday last year (2023) was a whopping $12.2 million.

We must really love our spooky stuff. Also, if that's how much we spend on Halloween decor and costumes, I'm terrified to know how much we spend on Christmas.

Bismarck's Store Opening

I know what you're thinking: "It's way too early to open Spirit Halloween!" Look, I know it's August, and we have months before Halloween, but it looks like the store is almost about to open.

Yes, Bismarck's Spirit Halloween is opening this month (August). I contacted the store's corporate office for a better idea of the exact date, but they were unable to give me that information at this time.

Location

Bismarck's Spirit Halloween will be in the same location as last year: the old Bed Bath and Beyond store in North Bismarck. Yes, it will be in Haycreek Shops.

What do you plan on dressing up as for Halloween?

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
