I still remember many things that stood out when I was just a kid - little league, the nervous first-day jitters when I left Junior high school to The Big Leagues - High School. Staying away from the big-shot seniors parading through the hallways. I was very skinny and extremely intimidated. Although the 12th graders looked like giants, they paled in comparison to the cool dinosaurs I saw at the San Diego Natural History Museum. A field trip from school was ALWAYS welcomed, sitting by the window of one of those ancient school buses, it seemed only fitting that we were off to see ancient relics. The only thing OLDER than the displays we walked around was the bland bologna, that nestled in between two limp slices of bread in my lunch bag. I do remember though all of a sudden history was fascinating to me.

That's why when I heard about this story, it brought back a flood of childhood memories. According to KFYRTV The children’s Treehouse at the North Dakota Heritage Center and Museum has re-opened for the first time in more than a year. How cool is that? An exhibit especially for young people, to open up their little eyes and explore. The play area hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. This is a perfect place for young kids to have fun, and adults too - "We love seeing our youngest visitors come back; it adds a new energy and a new excitement into the museum that we’ve really been missing"   said ND Heritage Center and Museum audience engagement and museum director Kim Jondahl.

This inspires an older guy like myself to check it out, and re-live some of my childhood again.
