After Starring in a Marvel Movie, Brie Larson Would Like to Direct One, Thank You Very Much
The next big project Brie Larson has on her schedule is Captain Marvel, the MCU’s first female-led superhero movie and the first one directed (albeit co-directed) by a woman. After making her directorial debut with Unicorn Store, Larson is ready to take on a superhero role — and, eventually, direct one herself.
While speaking to The Huffington Post about Unicorn Store and the trials of making her own movie, Larson said that she definitely has Marvel Movie Director on her bucket list.
Oh yeah, that’s my plan. Why not? My new life philosophy is I’m not going to tell myself no. I’m just going to do stuff until someone else tells me no.
That’s a pretty great life philosophy, and while her directorial debut doesn’t quite land its tone (our Oliver Whitney called it “a quirky little movie that takes its whimsical embrace-your-inner-kid metaphor much too seriously”) it’s only her first shot at it. Maybe, after learning the ropes from the acting side while doing Captain Marvel, Larson will get more of a feel for how Marvel does things.
