A holiday is on the horizon, and many of us, myself included, are looking forward to the long weekend.

We work hard all year round, so it's nice we have a specific holiday that celebrates the economic achievements of American workers.

Many of us use the extra Monday off work to go out and get all of our errands and shopping done. A lot of Bismarck businesses run really great Labor Day sales, so it's never a bad idea to get out of the house and see where we can save a buck or two.

If you do plan on doing a little shopping on Labor Day, you might want to keep this in mind: a major retailer has decided to close its doors for the holiday.

Don't drive all the way up to North Bismarck expecting to do a massive grocery haul at Costco; they will not be open on Monday, September 1st, so if you plan on hosting a big barbecue or are running low on all of the essentials, you might want to head over there and stock up now.

While it might seem like a pretty big inconvenience for a grocery store to be closed on this particular holiday, you have to appreciate what they're doing for their workers. They're making sure their employees also get the same perks and acknowledgment as so many other American workers.

Bismarck's Costco isn't the only one that's closing this Labor Day; it appears as though Fargo's location will also be closed, along with all other U.S. locations.
