Fargodome Upgrades Security With Walk-Through Metal Detectors
The Fargodome has installed new walk-through metal detectors as their security is being upgraded.
According to KFGO, Fargodome General Manager Rob Sobolik, the staff is going through training as they're continuing to finalize the guidelines and protocol on what items someone can or cannot bring into the venue.
It has yet to be determined when the venue will be fully operating the new metal detectors, but they may perform a test run with upcoming events such as Monster Jam 2018 on February 2-3 and the Avenged Sevenfold concert on February 11.
Sobolik said the new metal detectors safety upgrades are, "an item, unfortunately, in today's world, that appears necessary." That statement was made in reference to growing terrorism concerns.
The venue used money from the Fargodome's surplus fund which was created to make capital improvements. The metal detectors cost about $150,000, which also includes new wand detectors that security personnel will be equipped with.
