We grew up watching the TV show, trading the cards, and even collecting the toys. Pokémon shaped the millennial generation.

I'm sure you heard kids fighting on the playground over which Pokémon character was the best or their favorite (everyone had a favorite).

Just when we thought the Pokémon obsession was dead and gone, something happened.

In 2016, Niantic released a game called Pokémon Go!, allowing millennials to relive their childhoods and run around dueling each other in local parks and restaurants like the children we truly are at heart.

Even though Pokémon Go! has died down quite a bit since 2016, there's still quite a bit of buzz around Pokémon. Here's something you might find pretty interesting.

A study was done MRO Electric, looking at over twenty years of Google Trends/search data to find each state's favorite Pokémon.

Before I tell you North Dakota's favorite Pokémon, let's see which one is the most popular in the U.S.

Drumroll please...

It's none other than Cyndaquill. Eight states had that particular Pokémon as their favorite. Pikachu came in as the second overall favorite with six states.

What about the least favorite? The source says the Pokémon with the fewest searches over the years is Eevee.

Which Pokémon is North Dakota's favorite? Well, according to the source, our loyalties lie with Ninetales.

Honestly, I'm no Pokémon expert, but I've never even heard of this one. What about Jigglypuff? Pikachu? Eevee?
